Organic

All the living things...

Sanibel Island Rings by Sarah Hood made from sterling silver and found organic materials.
They are one of a kind!!

It seems that ecological consciousness is stronger than ever. How many times a day do we hear about recycling, green products, organic food and Heaven knows Global Warming?! I'm sure most of us try to be proactive about how we complete our daily duties, doing the little things that we hope one day will make a difference, like taking our own (cloth) bags to the grocery store, using green cleaning products and buying organic produce and wholegrain fed meat (when our wallets allow it).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to preach or to state that I am all of a sudden a vegan. I'm not going to stop consuming animal products and to never buy another pair of leather pumps is plain heresy. All I'm trying to say is that it  is impressive to me the effort put forth by some people about truly living green.
Some designers are using recycled, organic and even living materials to create beautiful accessories, from jewelry to handbags and obviously making a pit stop at shoes. Most of the designs are not what you would consider "wearable" but they're definitely worth checking out. So it's time to stop thinking that organic accessories are only those dreadful coconut shell earrings from the Hippie Fair. Hope you have as much fun with these as I did...

Both funky and natural, using only living materials this amazing work by Bulgarian artist Ceca Georgieva is truly beautiful.

Cactus bracelet purse by Kathleen Dustin is made with boar's hair. It's open here to show the detailing.

Stella McCartney's Organic Capsule Collection Pump. Leave it to a lifetime vegetarian to give us a great fashionable totally organic shoe!!!
