TOPS
Again I decided to combine on this post tops and outerwear, I'm not being lazy (?!), just trying not to make things too boring. So here, you will find two of each, these are definite must haves, but not the only ones you should own. The length of all your tops, being blouses or coats should be in harmony with your body shape, if you keep in mind the simple mantra of "hide the bad and flaunt the good" will you be just fine.
THE T-SHIRT
Every person has a t-shirt, we use it from sleeping (men's over sized ones are my personal favorite) to going out to clubs. They can be scoop, crew, v-neck...the possibilities are endless. I won't ramble on about it since a t-shirt is pretty self explanatory, but I will say one thing, do never, absolutely never wear one that reads "I'm with stupid"!

THE BUTTON DOWN
Originally a design exclusive made and worn by men, the button down shirt is a classic piece. Once it made its debut as part of women's attire it was there to stay. Today women of all ages can take advantage of this once "out of reach" piece of clothing and thank the fashion Gods for it!!! It can be definitely be dressed up or down, looking just as sharp under a suit as with a pair of shorts.

THE TRENCH COAT
From Jackie O. to Dick Tracy, the Trench Coat's been around forever and it always will. Who can't remember the cinched trench worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's? Today's trenches are really not that different and because of most of them have a belt or cinched waist, it really flatters any body shape. Since it's a timeless piece, I suggest you splurge a bit and find yourself a coat the will never get out of style.

THE DENIM JACKET
Oh, what a trusty little piece of clothing... Almost as loved as your favorite pair of jeans, the denim jacket is a great "grab and go" kind of garment. You can pair it off with almost anything, the only reason I say almost, is because (even though some fashionistas may disagree) I don't believe it should be worn if you're already sporting denim on your bottom half. Too much, just too much. Today you can find all different styles of jean jackets, from the classic five pocket to cropped blazers. So, go ahead and try something that might not exactly look like your standard jacket next time you go out for one, you may surprise yourself!
